Dan and I are about to fly off to enjoy a weekend stargazing on Tenerife in the Canary Islands! With all our planning for that trip, as well as a problem set due for physics yesterday, I still haven't been able to finish my post about the wine-tasting excursion and football game from Saturday. But I promise, it's coming soon! I certainly plan on blogging about our trip to Tenerife, but for now, here is a short post to update you on the goings-on of my week so far.
Month: March 2017

A Reflection + brief update (Weeks 9-10)
We have now been in Geneva for two months and 10 days. I acknowledge that I haven’t been the best with posting my weekly updates recently, and for that I apologize. I think a large part of the reason for that is that the excitement of the first couple months has largely passed and I’m starting to fall into a rhythm. I don’t do many new or exciting things during the week, so my weekly updates from now on will be shorter or nonexistent. Most of my travel or excursions occur on the weekends and I will continue to report on those as they happen. To make up for last week’s absence, I’m going to combine my “updates” from the past two weeks in today’s post. I’ve also decided that I’m in the mood for an introspective reflection on my time in Geneva so far.

Snowshoe trek // 18.03.2017
Saturday was our long-awaited snowshoe trek. After a week of Geneva’s sunshine and temperatures in the 60s, we all wondered how much snow would actually be involved in this day-trip, but we were excited to find out.

Week 8: A bunch of college juniors try skiing for the first time
As I wrap up my eighth week in Geneva, I have the strange simultaneous feelings that time is flying by and that I've been here for an eternity. I don't know whether to feel excited or disappointed that we're only a third of the way through our program... But enough cliché—in today’s episode, we scratch a major goal off our collective bucket lists and Casey turns 21!

a Double Stuf update: Weeks 6 + 7
The past couple weeks have been busy. We officially started our UniGe classes last week and they have been keeping us occupied; because of this, I didn’t get around to posting a weekly update last week. To compensate, in today’s post I summarize my last two weeks in Geneva, which includes a day trip to Zürich and meeting lots of Swiss students!
